There's a lot to be said for the use of colour when it comes to designing your little ones room. From bright contrasting tones to more neutrals hues, the options are boundless (and often overwhelming!) So, to help you navigate this journey, we've found four of our favourite colour schemes on Instagram and have narrowed in on what it is about these spaces that we love most, and how you can work to achieve something similar in your own home!

PRETTY IN PASTELS

@velveteen_babies

If you love color but don't want anything too bright, the use of pastels is a fantastic way to go! We love @velveteen_babies because she uses the most splendid ice-cream inspired palette to showcase her home, along with her hand-made garlands. Utilising soft pinks, blues, greens and yellows is always a sure-fire way to achieve something spectacular! Creating any girls dream, we suggest using some coloured wicker goods to help add a little variance to your tones, as well as texture. Olli Ella is a fantastic brand to investigate if this looks right up yours (and your little ones) alley! Not to mention @velveteen_babies stunning droplet garlands!

GETTING MOODY

Then again, if you prefer something a little bit moodier @__s.u.s.a.n.n.e__ offers a page filled with exquisite earthy tones that leave you feeling all warm and cosy on the inside. We love the use of rich autumnal colours to add some depth to a room and inspire your little ones sense of play. Investing in tonal bedding can create the perfect colour base which you can then emphasise or lighten using braided natural wicker baskets or light wood toys. Our top brand picks to help you create the dreamiest room are Ferm Living, Olli Ella and Moon Picnic!

BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL

@bowinthesky
Needless to say we couldn't make a blog like this without talking about bedrooms that are brimming with bright, boundless colours! For this we turn to the queen of colour herself, Dominy from @bowinthesky. Featuring an instagram page that bursts with brilliant hues, we love her use of complimentary shades and colour-blocking items. Adding solid blocks of colour to a room is always a great way to make an impression. By dotting other items around the room of a similar shade you can ensure that no matter how bright and beautiful, the room is neatly tied together with a sense of continuity. For this effect we suggest Mustard Made and Aykasa Crates!

SOMETHING NEUTRAL

@kidofthevillage

Gender Neutral rooms are also a fantastic option to investigate when it comes to creating spaces in your home for developing minds. @kidofthevillage offers an instagram page filled with gorgeous gender neutral room inspirations, along with a fantastic collection of her own fun and educational prints. We love the versatility of gender neutral rooms and think its a fantastic method to paint a room a subtle base colour, which you can then change up by using colourful furnishings like rugs, pillows and printed sheets! (don't forget to check out @kidofthevillage amazing prints for your walls!) OYOY Living Designs and Swedish Linen are fantastic brands to check out for some fun, neutral children's furnishings!
